This place is a gem. There’s still some updates needed overall but we had a great experience. Temple rock was a challenging short hike and had some interesting and beautiful rock structures. They have a movie prop site at the base of it (heartbreak hotel) and the park is adjacent to Carrizo canyon hike which is posted no trespassing but people just go anyways and there’s dead railroad cars, tunnels and trestles to see along with more beautiful high desert views. The staff were friendly and the bar on Friday night was fun with nice pool tables and cues with strong cocktails to boot. We’ll be back someday soon.
My favourite place for sunbathing, hiking and rock climbing, year round.
This place is so tranquil. This place does have residents but they are so friendly. There's a bar in the resort. Lots and lots of trails. Good for dirt biking, sight seeing, lots of rock formations. The weather right now is a little brisk but all in all it's worth the getaway. About 2 hours East on hwy 8 from North County
We had a great time while we camped here! The staff is friendly, it's easy to get to, the location is beautiful, there were water and power hook ups at our site and there were plenty of trails to explore. We'll definitely be back!
Solitude. UPDATE: NOT a good place for a dog. FLEAS are TERRIBLE. Cactus and ground thorns are EVERYWHERE.
It feels great meeting such nice friendly staff and being in a great spot. I'm gonna stay a few... sunsets and the stars.. awesome.. thank you De Anza Resort
Friendly staff and residents. Well maintained hiking trails. Great views. Fun events. Membership is well worth it if you plan to stay about 12 or more days a year but note that rates may have changed by the time you read this review.
Update 12/12/23: The resort is not clothing optional anymore. I've never been back since the change.
Hey Kevin - why are you trying to fool people? you must know that it’s against policy to write reviews of your own businesses. The way you wrote your review was a deceitful way to go about it. DeAnza needs to be authentic and update their online information to reflect the facts. No no activities or amenities, you graded all the lush grassy areas, alienated the people who trusted you and Lucas, insulted guests and residents, no longer clothing optional, no luxurious amenities, jacuzzi, etc. and stating they are a Resort? Hotel? Come on —l that is such a stretch it’s ridiculous.
Let’s look at the facts - no judgment zone - dirty pool and unsanitary spa, and showers are more often broken. The purported “luxurious amenities” are old outdated and out of order restrooms, (most of the stand alone restroom buildings are boarded up), archaic "gym", gate wide open near border, electricity outages, kitchen guy is lecherous, unethical and discriminatory LGBTQRST manager berates residents, loud techno music at all hours with no notice, management turns a deaf ear to concerns and complaints, unprofessional and seemingly unethical mindset and behaviors by management, false and deliberately misleading advertising and appears to be intentional deception - eg., 2 heated pools, children’s playground, sand volleyball, activities, pickle ball courts, archery, and the list goes on and on….
Kecho - Kevin - 30s self described “Spiritual Degenerate”, Psychedelics and Microdose advocate is the newest resident/co-owner and his illustrious GWagon says it all - “MICRODSE”. Could it be he is planning to grace the hills of Jacumba with his grow? Distribution of psychedelic mushrooms on the grounds may bring in a younger audience and festivals— hopefully that business model doesn’t backfire. Since you’ve been called out on providing and promoting FREE psilocybin, open bar etc. the place is empty once again. The vibes are off and it’s hard not to notice there’s been false advertising about what is actually available. Kevin manages to keep his backpacker/companion active on social media but again it’s lame and odd to see their amateur attempts at promoting this sacred space. You just can’t fool Mother Nature.
For more, check all yelp reviews and see that management and friends are putting up their own five star reviews clearly in violation of Google policy.
Kevin has reached out below for show and though we are willing to open discussions he has never reached out personally.
As to Deanza’s true intentions and what Jacumba Partners and crew has done to the residents and community is inexplicable, and difficult to comprehend with any confidence. Luke Katie and Kevin- shame on you for subjecting this beautiful community to your incompetence, ineptitude and very bad business practices and decisions which have deprived and destroyed many
A Desert Escape 🏜️
From the moment I arrived at De Anza, the desert's magic was palpable. Nestled …
